Lily-of-the-valley plants are in bloom now wherever you go stepping. Lots of people use these for ground cover because they are so prolific and hardy. Other people think of them as weeds. They propagate by sending rhizomes underground and have pretty little bell-like flowers in May which smell very sweet.
Beware. What they don’t tell you in the garden stores is that they come up even through asphalt. Score one for Mother Nature.
