April 12, 2015 Laugh A Minute Poetry Cafe

I’ll be reading some of my funny poems at the Laugh A Minute Poetry Café in the Macedon Public Library at 1:00 pm today, April 12, sharing the mic with some other members of the Walworth Writers Guild. The library is in the Macedon town complex on Rte. 31 in Macedon.

This is one of the poems I’ll be reading. It’s from There Are No Buffalo in Buffalo, my book of poems about places in New York State.

Driving Manhattan

Driving Manhattan is crazy.

Hang on tight;

don’t go too slow.

Zigzag ’round jay walkers,

shake your fist at the gawkers,

and use all the swear words you know.

Driving Manhattan is crazy.

Start with a prayer;

Lord have mercy.

Then lay on your horn,

but just be forewarned,

you may have to park in New Jersey.
