Day 264

I’m one of those annoying people who considers every day a gift from God, and every warm, sunny day after Labor Day an extra special gift, like that gift that comes in a big box, perfectly wrapped in foil paper, tied with matching ribbon, and topped with a huge colorful bow. Today was a day just like that. I feel sorry for anyone in Rochester who had to spend the whole day indoors.

My travels took me to Webster so I stopped for a walk at North Ponds Park. I took 2 laps around on the paved trail for 2 miles and 4500 steps. I stopped for awhile to look at the ducks and the geese in the pond, and I could swear that the geese were taking baths. Not just one, but all of them would take turns dipping under water and then coming up and flapping their wings like mad while staying in the same spot. Do geese bathe before they migrate? Or maybe they bathe whenever the sun, and wind and temperature are just right…. on a perfect day like today.
