Day 202 Hidden Sidewalk, Crescent Beach

I stopped by the hidden sidewalk on my way to lunch with the #22 School retirees at Crescent Beach.

The hidden sidewalk is a great place to walk. It’s a paved sidewalk on the lake side of the homes along Beach Ave, just west of Ontario Beach Park. I parked on Clematis St. and crossed over Beach Ave. to the start of the sidewalk. You may also access it across from Welland St., Larch St. and Cloverdale. On one side of the sidewalk you’ll see beautiful houses with colorful gardens and expansive lawns.

On the other side you’ll see more flowers and great views of Lake Ontario.

I went hoping to catch a cool breeze. There was a breeze, but it felt like air from a blast furnace.

Same at Crescent Beach. We sat inside in air-conditioned comfort despite the lake views and flower displays outside. The restaurant has been in Rochester for years and years and brings to mind all the lake resorts that graced the southern shore of Lake Ontario in the early 1900’s. My mother used to talk about going to the dance halls and riding to Coburg, Ontario on the ferry.

So it was a great day for being with friends and reminiscing. Not such a great day for stepping.
