April 13, 2015 Pilgrimage

I’m still thinking of Easter and spring break. Here’s a poem I wrote a few years ago that encompasses both.

Pilgrimage

The Easter Parade starts early.
Lily white Angoras head south on the bunny trail
to worship at the House of the Rising Sun.
Along the way they collect disciples,
folks blown right out of New Jersey by
ArcticWind trying to disguise
itself as Spring Breeze.
All charmed south by promises
of rising tides and eggcellent adventure,
Pilgrims soaking up seashell manna and
washing in waves of healing,
salt air resurrecting them from death of spirit.
A trinity of dophins alternately appears
and disappears.
The worshipers on shore marvel
and spread the Good News.
