There’s an awesome bridge that connects Ormond Beach to the mainland of Florida. It’s bow shaped, with walking paths on both sides. The pedestrian lanes are separated from the cars by a bike lane and a 40 inch high concrete wall. I’d been wanting to walk this bridge since we got to Ormond Beach, but I hesitated for two reasons – the steep incline and the cold, windy weather. But today was a perfect day, and I had no more excuses. I psyched myself up for the incline and found that it was not as difficult as it looked from the bottom. Isn’t that often the case with any challenge? They are conquerable one step at a time, and the view from the top makes it all worthwhile.
I think I’ll relax by the pool for the rest of the day.
