Wasn’t this a great week to be from Rochester, especially if you’re a woman? I don’t know anyone who wasn’t watching the soccer game yesterday or at least eagerly waiting for the results. I’ve never met Abby Wambach, Jennifer Suhr, or Meaghan Musnicki but I feel like I know them. I guess celebrity does that. And somehow it makes us feel like we’re up there playing, and scoring and winning along with them.

Rochester is home to three female gold medal winners. Would Susan B. Anthony say that “failure is impossible” for the rest of us too?
