Last year we had a nest of robins under our second-level deck. In fact, there were two sets of babies that hatched there, and every day I checked on them, watching them grow and finally leaving the nest.

Gary thinks that birds’ nests belong in trees and not on houses, so this year he decided to thwart the birds by putting up screening between the 2x4s under the deck. You can see in this picture how well his plan worked.

Don’t tell him that I was rooting for the birds.
