I passed this pond on my way to the gym this morning and had to stop for a minute just to look and enjoy. Then I took this picture.

I don’t know if the warm November has made the geese hang around later this year or if they will be here all winter, but I loved watching the geese walking on the ice. So, with apologies to Robert Frost…

Stopping by a Pond on an Icy Morning

Whose pond this is I think I know,

As driving by I start to slow.

The geese won’t mind me stopping here

while skating on the ice they go.

This pond is lovely, cold and deep,

But I have weights to lift and goals to keep,

And steps to walk before I sleep.
