Day 306 Waiting Part 2

Last week I wrote about how I consider WAIT an acronym for While Anxious I Trust.” But while I’m waiting and trusting, it helps to have something constructive to do with my hands. This week I started making a baby quilt. You might wonder why I’ve waited this long, but I was waiting to find out if the quilt would be for a boy or a girl. This week I decided to go ahead and make it in neutral colors.

What changed my mind? For the center of the quilt I’m using some Peter Rabbit fabric squares. These squares belonged to my aunt who died this week.  As I measured and cut and stitched, my thoughts went back and forth between my daughter and the baby and my aunt. Work therapy.

Did I mention that the baby’s room has a rabbit theme and that 2011 is the year of the rabbit? Was it just coincidence that my cousin found these blocks from her mother just a few weeks ago? You decide.
