Today I got my steps in baby shopping with Kris and Dave. Not shopping for a baby, but shopping for things for the anticipated baby. Specifically, we were looking for a car seat and stroller.
The newest in big box baby stores is Buy, Buy Baby. When you set foot in here you will immediately feel overwhelmed by the choices. In every category there are dozens of brands and items to choose from. Not only that, but every item moves and makes noise and requires an instruction manual and an engineering degree to put together.
Then there are the government regulations to consider. I just found out that babies are not allowed to leave the hospital now without proof of a car seat. This seems a little extreme to someone like myself who can remember when kids sat on their father’s lap while he drove, and the only form of child restraint in a car was their mother’s arm trust straight out.
After much discussing and practice lifting and folding, we settled on this sporty model. It’s a stroller, car seat combo with an extra base unit just for my car. I hope Baby G likes riding with the top down.
