Day 200 Pillowcase Dresses

We had a sewing night at church to make these dresses for girls around the world. One of our easier projects, you start with a pillowcase, the prettier the better. You cut off the closed end and cut out some armholes. You put some elastic through the neck edges and stitch long pieces of seam binding to the armholes, leaving enough to tie at the shoulders. Voila! You have a dress.

Many organizations are making these dresses. Check out www.dressagirlaroundtheworld.com to find out more information. A group from Lyons, NY took 2,000 of these dresses to Haiti in May.

Haiti just became one step closer to us.
