It was finally warm enough to take a long walk outside today, even though I had to step over puddles and walk through rivers of water running down the sidewalk. I guess that’s a sign of spring, but I saw some even better signs of spring this week. When I was driving on Rte 490 in the city, I saw new signs that gave directions for the Lilac Festival. And downtown there were lilac banners on every pole. In my own yard I saw these small glimpses of purple. 

Now for the undeniable, irrefutable best sign of spring – I heard the bells of the Skippy ice cream truck as I was completing my walk.

NO,  I wasn’t halucinating.
