Bike Week officially begins today in Daytona. Daytona has a love-hate relationship with the bikers. On the one hand, they bring lots of money into the community. On the other hand, they also bring traffic, accidents, and noise, lots of noise. Because helmets are not required in Florida, many of the accidents become fatalities. Motorcycle insurance is also not required, but that’s an issue for the rest of my family.

So, as waves and waves of bikers come washing into Daytona, we’re stepping down the beach. See you in Cape Canaveral.
