Day 51

I’ve gotten so used to the pedometer now that it feels funny not to be wearing it on Sunday. I find myself looking for it when it’s not there. I’ve also found that when I do any exercising on Sunday I think that I should not be wasting these steps on a day when I’m not counting.

I have to remind myself of the real goal – to exercise more and to become more fit. The pedometer is just a way of keeping track of my efforts, the means and not the end. So steps taken on Sunday are not wasted. I haven’t given up walking on Sunday; I’ve just given up keeping score.

Sunday is a perfect day to take a break from keeping score, and to reflect on your real purpose in life.
