So it’s day number 1 of my stepping challenge, and I’m already behind. Here’s what happened.
SALLY’S PLAN A: Go to Eastview Mall and spend an hour just walking around. Then return gifts and shop the after Christmas sales. Log at least 8,000 steps.
HUSBAND GARY’S PLAN A: Go to Eastview Mall and spend only as much time as it takes to return gifts or 5 minutes, whichever is less.
RESULT: I only spent about 45 minutes at the mall and only logged about 5,000 steps on the pedometer.
SALLY’S PLAN B: Come home and walk outside in our neighborhood. When do we ever get 50 degrees and clean sidewalks in January in Rochester?
GOD’S PLAN B: It rained until dark.
RESULT: I watched the Rose Parade which I had recorded earlier in the day. If only watching people walk would count as walking myself…
SALLY’S PLAN C: Walk back and forth in the kitchen while cooking dinner.
RESULT: All I got from that was dizzy.
I ended the day with 7,544 steps, a deficit of 3,456. The good news is that Day 2 is Sunday so I already get a day off. Talk to you Monday…..
