February 19, 2016 Service

Earlier this winter I happened to stop at a gas station that I go to only when I’m in the neighborhood. It’s not my regular station. As soon as I pulled in, an attendant came out of the store and approached my car window. I was expecting him to tell me that the pumps weren’t working, but instead he told me that this was a full service gas station now. Not only would he pump my gas but also clean my windshield. He may have also been willing to check the oil, but I didn’t ask. I was completely taken by surprise. I can’t remember the last time an attendant pumped my gas. It must have been around 1985, so thirty years or more. Then the station closed again for repairs to the store area, but I’m happy to report that it’s open now and providing full service. This is the Penfield Service Center on the corner of Rte. 250 and Atlantic Ave. It may become my go to gas station. I could get used to service like this.
