Day 10

When you’re cursing the lake effect snow, remember that our proximity to the lake is what gives us those cherries and apples that grow so well in Western New York. A mixed blessing.

Have you noticed how apple trees are getting smaller these days? The first time I saw a new orchard I thought it was grapes. Here’s a picture of an old orchard and a new orchard side by side. Kind of like a pencil sharpener next to a computer.
